Aluminum Foils

The low heat seal temperatures of Michem® Prime co-polymer dispersions, combined with excellent adhesion properties, make them a preferred choice for laminating foil, paper and film. These dispersions are frequently used to provide a tie layer between foil and other substrates. As a tie layer, Michem® Prime provides a clear, FDA-compliant coating which is resistant to solvents, grease and water.

As a heat-sealant, Michem® Prime improves line speeds and cuts costs through a low heat-seal temperature and a high degree of hot tack. It provides thinner films than extrusion coatings, and can be pattern applied for further cost reduction.

Michem® Prime is further used as a pre-treatment to prepare a paper substrate to accept metallization, and as the post-metallization coating to protect the aluminum surface, reduce oxidation and impart  printability.
