Green Beans/Zucchini/Squash
Green bean growers across the U.S. have replaced wire bound crates with Michelman-coated packaging. Zucchini and squash growers, who traditionally used wax-cascaded corrugated, have also switched to Michelman’s recyclable coatings. All three vegetables are shed-packed, forced-air cooled, and stored in high humidity. High stacking strength is essential. The new cartons, available in both RSC and common footprint designs, are coated inside and out.

Pineapple
Nearly every major pineapple grower uses Michelman coatings on their packaging. To meet this fruit’s high strength needs, long cold/humid storage conditions and 2-3 week shipping period, the box was redesigned with a water-based coating on the inside and in the fluting.

Poultry
Four Michelman coatings are widely used in the packaging of both fresh and frozen poultry. Each offers water resistance and release, with or without oil/moisture resistance and cold-set gluability.
