Multi-Wall Bags

Multi-wall bag manufacturers are using VaporCoat® to eliminate the need for a protective poly film layer. With VaporCoat®’s water-, moisture- and grease resistance, they are able to offer customers the performance of film in a paper-only bag. This can have cost advantages, because the price of film is closely tied to the price of oil.

Manufacturers of dog food and cement also use our non-skid coatings and overprint varnishes to help keep multi-wall bags from sliding off pallets during transport. Our high-angle-of-skid OPVs protect graphics from scratching and smearing without compromising gloss.

Properties That Affect Multi-Wall Bags

CleanGrip® 111: CleanGrip® 111 is an alumina based, nonskid coating designed to reduce the slipperiness of shipping containers by providing excellent slide angles. CleanGrip® 111 has a low pH that does not resolubilize ink and can prevent ink smearing. This product is gluable with both hot melt and cold set glues.

CleanGrip® 2100: CleanGrip® 2100 is a silica based, sprayable nonskid coating designed to reduce the slipperiness of shipping containers by providing excellent slide angles. Because CleanGrip® 2100 is easily cleanable, it takes the worry and mess out of running nonskids. This product is gluable using both hot melt and cold set adhesives.

CleanGrip® 2103: CleanGrip® 2103 is a high solids, sprayable nonskid coating designed to reduce the slipperiness of shipping containers. It provides excellent slide angles and meets most demanding specs. Because CleanGrip® 2103 is easily cleanable, it takes the worry and mess out of running nonskids. This product is both hot melt and cold set gluable.

GlossCoat™ 100 BL: GlossCoat™ 100BL is a fully formulated, flexo appliable nonskid coating designed for kraft, mottled and bleached substrates.

Michem® Lube 190: Anionic polyethylene wax emulsion

Micryl™ 766R: Micryl™ 766R is a water and grease resistance coating that can also function as a low cost, heat resistant gloss overprint. In such applications, Micryl™ 766R can be applied to paper (non-clay coated), film or foil, either over or under glycol or wax-free inks. This product is gluable with cold set and hot melt glues.

Micryl™ 783: Micryl™ 783 is an excellent choice when a water and grease resistant coating is required and in-line coating is not possible. It imparts useful levels of gloss and ink protection. This product is gluable with both hot melt and cold set glues.

SofTak® 118: SofTak® 118 is a gluable nonskid coating with good scuff resistance, water resistance, and moderate oil resistance.

SofTak® 126: SofTak® 126 is a gluable nonskid coating with the added benefit of good scuff and water resistance, oil resistance and a "leather like" feel. This product is effective for slip or tier sheets as well as decorative packaging.

SofTak® 1637: SofTak® 1637 is a gluable nonskid coating with the added benefit of good scuff and water resistance, oil resistance and a "leather-like" feel. This product is also effective for slip or tier sheets.

SofTak® 317: SofTak® 317 is a gluable nonskid coating with excellent angle of skid. These properties are useful for slip or tier sheets, or a variety of other applications requiring a non-skid surface.

SofTak® 326: SofTak® 326 is an excellent nonskid coating that also has a fair amount of water resistance. It is often used on slip/tier sheets or a variety of other applications that require a high COF surface.

ThermaGloss® 419: ThermaGloss® 419 is a high heat resistant overprint which imparts excellent gloss to preprinted linerboard while eliminating picking and smearing of the inks through the hot plate section of the corrugator. ThermaGloss® 419 has a reduced angle of skid. ThermaGloss® 419 is not gluable.

ThermaGloss® 420: ThermaGloss® 420 is a high heat resistant overprint which imparts excellent gloss to preprinted liner board while eliminating picking and smearing of the inks through the hot plate section of the corrugator. ThermaGloss® 420 has a reduced angle of skid. This product is not gluable.

ThermaGloss® 420A: ThermaGloss® 420A is a high heat resistant overprint which imparts excellent gloss to preprinted liner board while eliminating picking and smearing of the inks through the hot plate section of the corrugator. ThermaGloss® 420A has a reduced angle of skid. This product is not gluable.

ThermaGloss® 425: ThermaGloss® 425 is a high heat resistant overprint which imparts excellent gloss to preprinted linerboard while eliminating picking and smearing of the inks through the hot plate section of the corrugator. ThermaGloss® 425 has a reduced angle of skid. ThermaGloss® 425 is not gluable.

ThermaGloss® 426: ThermaGloss® 426 is a high heat resistant overprint which imparts excellent gloss to preprinted linerboard while eliminating picking and smearing of the inks through the hot plate section of the corrugator. ThermaGloss® 426 has a reduced angle of skid. This product performs similarly to ThermaGloss® 425 but with the added benefit of FDA compliance (see Food Contact Information). ThermaGloss® 426 is not gluable.

ThermaGloss® 460: ThermaGloss® 460 is a low odor, high heat resistant, water based preprint coating which imparts high gloss and excellent dry rub resistance. This coating is typically used for applications where printed/varnished liner must withstand the heat of corrugation process.
